The 2024 Healthcare+ Expo Taiwan, which opened on December 5, featured TMU and its affiliated hospitals presented their 3A Healthcare achievements: Acute Care, Ambulatory Care, and Advanced Care.

TMU also organized four major exhibition sections: Smart Hospital, Medical & Healthcare, Telemedicine, and Industry–Academia Collaboration, which displayed 33 highlights and comprehensively demonstrated innovative applications of AI technologies in medical and healthcare services.

TMU’s 3A Healthcare and Digital Transformation

President Mai-Szu Wu emphasized that the future of healthcare will prioritize individual-focused care, with digital transformation playing a crucial role. Guided by principles such as “strategy over tools” and “data to intelligence,” TMU successfully upgraded its HIS 3.0 System in just five months. Innovative AI applications, including generative-AI nursing shift reports, have significantly improved medication safety, workflow efficiency, and data monitoring.

Smart Ward and Long-term Care Innovation

The TMU Healthcare System displayed several innovative applications in the Smart Hospital section, including a smart infusion pump and the TMU Hospital (TMUH) Electronic Dashboard ICU Critical Care Information System (TED-ICU). TMUH has also introduced smart mattresses and a urine drainage bag sensing system at the Taipei Municipal Xingai Residential Long-Term Care Institution, thereby realizing real-time resident health monitoring and reducing caregiver workloads.

 Telemedicine Integration and Remote Care

TMU’s Telemedicine Center integrates medical records, test results, and home care data to provide seamless, real-time health management. Innovative video-based technologies now facilitate remote consultations for ocean-going vessels, reducing emergency docking costs while maintaining crew healthcare.

AI Applications for Dementia and Specialized Care

Wanfang Hospital unveiled its Mixed Reality (MR) Digital Dementia Village, enhancing cognitive training for dementia patients. Meanwhile, Shuang Ho Hospital’s AI-powered Wound Care Center and Diagnostic and Treatment Center for Inherited Kidney Diseases showcased AI-driven solutions that have effectively reduced diabetes-related amputations and mortality rates, surpassing international standards.

Through 3A Healthcare and AI applications, TMU Healthcare System continues to pioneer innovative medical solutions, setting a new benchmark for the future of global healthcare services.
