Mid-Autumn Festival Cultural Workshop
Mid-Autumn Festival is almost here! Have you heard the stories of Chang’e flying to the moon and the Jade Rabbit pounding medicine? Come and enjoy mooncakes, pomelo, and hear stories about the Mid-Autumn Festival! In Taiwan, we have many varieties of mooncakes, such as mung bean cakes, egg yolk pastries, and Hong Kong-style mooncakes. When we eat mooncakes, we also eat pomelo and wear pomelo hats. Come and try them!
Join us for an engaging workshop by speaker Kuanyun Ko, lecturer at Shih Hsin University. She currently teaches elementary, intermediate and advanced Chinese, as well as cultural courses. In cultural courses, she teaches festival customs, calligraphy, traditional Chinese painting, facial makeup, and seal carving. In this session, we will dive into the Mid-Autumn Festival traditions and learn Chinese while hearing festival stories with us!
