【Conference】 OPEN CALL “2020 Beyond BioMed Accelerator”

2020 Beyond BioMed Accelerator is held by BioHub Taiwan@NBRP in collaboration with AstraZeneca, Amazon Web Services (AWS). The program will promote the acceleration of the biomedical industry, innovation in medical technology and services.
Startup teams participating in the program would have the privilege to receive mentoring and support from internationally renowned institutions in the biomedical industry. Winner teams would be eligible for three months of intensive acceleration program, one-on-one academic and commercial mentoring. Throughout the program, the teams would be able to connect with prominent scientists and entrepreneurs and become part of a global network. We are looking for startups in the two major professional fields as follows: Digital Health and BioMedicine.

Application criteria & selection

1. Team eligibility
The application is open to all companies and teams, in any nationalities or ages.The team must be able to attend mentoring and courses in English.

2. Professional fields
Category A: Digital Health
Digital Health innovative projects, solutions or compounds that providing solutions to current unmet patients’ needs such as:
(1)Awareness
(2)Early detection and Diagnosis
(3)Treatment
(4)Post-treatment wellness
Category B: BioMedicine
Biomedical Innovative projects, solutions or compounds for patients that targeting the following 3 disease areas:
(1)Oncology
(2)Respiratory and Immunology
(3)Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism

3. Judging criteria
(1)Overall planning: understanding of the problem, novelty, and feasibility of the solution. The score would include current validation (operational) results, market development plan, product development plan, and fundraising plan.
(2)Market potential: understanding of the market growth, competitor analysis, and the team’s competitive edge.
(3)Execution: the team’s background, past achievements and results, teamwork and ability to carry out its plans.
(4)Collaboration potential: the team’s potential in collaborating with the accelerators’ enterprise partner(s) from technology, service, or market aspects. Preferences would be given to teams have sufficient condition to collaborate with the enterprise partners.
