Purpose and Theme
Taipei Medical University is hosting this special competition to encourage undergraduate students to develop foundational programming skills and computational thinking. By engaging students in thematic exploration, programming implementation, and innovative applications, the competition aims to deepen students’ knowledge and nurture cross-disciplinary experts for the future.
This year’s theme, “Discovering New Knowledge for Sustainability”, focuses on addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Participants are required to clearly articulate how their projects align with specific SDG indicators.
The competition highlights, but is not limited to, the following goals:
• Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.
• Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and among countries.
• Goal 14 & 15: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources; Sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, halt biodiversity loss.
Participants are required to utilize real-world data relavant to the theme and apply data visualization programming techniques to uncover new insights hidden within the data. The competition emphasizes a problem-solving approach, aiming to reveal meaningful and innovative findings. Participants should present their discoveries through clear, visually compelling charts and graphics, addressing sustainability challenges related to health, society, and environmental concerns.

Eligibility
1)Participants must be currently enrolled undergraduate students of Taipei Medical University.
